Beltana Range: Feb 17

Such a relaxing day! Things started off with a hike around our campgrounds to a beautiful lookout point then we packed up camp and hit the road. A few hours and some photo stops later, we arrived in Beltana, a now ghost town in the middle of the desert. Recently, they had a lot of rainfall (their entire annual amount fell the week before we arrived) so some of the roads were washed away. We reached a point where the bus couldn't drive through the road anymore and had to walk the rest of the way into the town. Luckily, we were just going for a visit and were sleeping on the edge of town at a cattle station that we could drive to. The station has about half a million acres... it's huge! And right there, in the middle of the desert was a pool oasis where we could relax and spend the afternoon.

Rise and shine, its hiking time!

Let's all lie in the middle of the road!
