Mt. Gambier: Feb 14

Day 3 of the tour had some more incredible scenery! We started with an early morning hike of a mountain at Grampians National Park. A steep and rocky climb but absolutely beautiful and definitely worth it! We then headed to Hamilton Botanical Gardens for a delicious BBQ lunch. After lunch, we discovered our bus was leaking fuel. No worries though, 2 hours later we were back on the road after shopping around Hamilton for a bit. The last stop for the day was Blue Lake, the bluest water I have ever seen! Tonight, we are sleeping in jail. We got arrested for causing a disturbance but luckily they have Wifi to I can still connect with the outside world. Kidding! We’re staying at the Old Mount Gambier Gaol (jail) that has been converted to a hostel. We all got prisoner hats and marched in like we were prisoners…except then we actually got stuck in the cell because the lock was stuck! After about 3 minutes, we finally got out but it was a worrisome few minutes. Pics of this will follow because they weren’t taken on my camera.

  1. that looks pretty high up...but beautiful. Glad to know they have WiFi in jail now, they didn't the last time I was there when I was in Pre-K.
